Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat
The idea of celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during National Unity Day held on 31st October 2015, to create a sustained and positive cultural bonding among communities of different regions. The Hon’ble Prime Minister enunciated that cultural diversity is a joy that should be celebrated through interaction and coordination among the people of different States and Union Territories so that a common spirit of understanding resonates across the country. Each State and Union Territory of the country will be paired with another State/UT for one year, during which they will engage with each other in the fields of language, literature, food, festivals, cultural events, tourism etc. The partner States/UTs will also embrace each other culturally.
Contributing to the Government of India program and the Prime Minister’s appeal, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has been organizing this program with great enthusiasm since the year 2015. This program is organized at school level, then cluster level, then division/state level and then up to national level. For the past few years, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Bhopal division has been given the responsibility of coordination of Manipur state. Students have played their meaningful role by participating in group song, group dance, solo folk song, solo folk dance, solo classical singing, solo classical dance, solo musical instrument, solo acting, tool and toy making etc.
Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, a Bhasha Sangam program is organized every month, in which children present beautiful programs on Indian languages, dialects, regional folk languages and dialects. Bhasha Sangam presentations are given in prayer meetings or other short programs through various activities like slogan writing, dialogue, drama, poetry recitation, song singing, etc.
